Dave’s Feb Goals
It’s one week into february and I’ve just finished up one of my main goals from last month…my thesis proposal has now been sent around to my committee members! Moving forward from last month…I will spend most of this month working on a juvenile clam OA experiment. For the past three weeks I have been piggy backing on Carolyn’s feeding study at FHL. This week I will be wrapping up the experiment and collecting the final sample that I will need for gene expression analysis and the final sample that I will need for my thesis….hooray! That means that one of my major goals for this month will be to finish this experiment and minimally have all of the tissue samples extracted. Ideally, I will start in on some qPCR assays.
I also got reviews from the larval clam paper that was submitted in December, so the other major goal for this month will be to try an address all of the reviewers comments so that the manuscript can be sent off again.
And finally, there’s the olympia oyster data that I will be analyzing for the bioinformatics class that I’m enrolled in. By the end of the month I hope to have all of the data analysis complete , meaning that I will have a list of annotated genes and a list of significantly regulated genes/biological processes.
