1. Graduate Research Assistantship in Shellfish Genomics

The School of Aquatic and Fishery Sciences at the University of Washington invites applications for a graduate research assistantship (MS or PhD) from students interested in comparative physiology of invertebrates. Possible areas of research include, but are not limited to using gene expression patterns in shellfish to better understand environmental change and studying the immune response in invertebrates as it relates to disease resistance.  Students should have some prior experience in biology and ecology.  Experience in molecular techniques, bioinformatics, and marine biology would be great.  Students should be self-motivated, hard working and creative.  Interested students should send a CV and letter of interest that includes the nature of your background and specific research interests to Dr. Steven Roberts (sr320@u.washington.edu).
